I do believe this is the best time of my life. All of children are adults, I have 3 beautiful Grandchildren and a wonderful, loving relationship with the best person in the world...My husband. It wasn't easy being young and raising children, working several jobs at one time just to make ends meet all at the same time trying to figure out life, parenting and leaving our baggage behind. Once we figured out a way to accomplish that we realized that 20 some years had gone by, our kids were grown and here we stand at a crossroads wondering what we want to do with the rest of our lives. We chose to continue to love each other, to find a way to recommit to our marriage, to find joy in ourselves & each other. or the remaining years of our life. So many things to see, so many experiences to enjoy together that we've never done before. Once we realize that we were not content on just existing together we learned the tools needed to make our life together the most wonderful thing we could have ever imagined. Through this decision, through this enlightenment our relationship is amazingly strong. We learned to love unconditionally, to forgive, to let go, to move forward. It's not always easy to do but we take the time to slow down and be aware of what is happening so we stay on the path of life together. I always wondered how people stayed married for so many years when they seem to just exist together. I'm so thankful that we wanted more out of each other, more for our life together. My prayer is for those who are married for years, feeling like they're missing out on something, wondering aimlessly through their marriage wishing things could be different is that you take another look at each other. Take another picture...The love of your life is right in front of you...if you both choose to put the other first, if you both choose to treat each other with the utmost love & respect you will find more excitement, more joy, more love in the person that you have been with for most of your adult life. The second half of your life can be the most exciting, most romantic, most adventurous time of your life together. I'm so grateful that we have discovered each other in a way that we never knew could happen. I'm looking so forward to the next 40 years together!".
