Tonya's Story
Life
Living in Colorado these days. It's absolutely beautiful out here -- George and I can't wait to spend some time up in the mountains!
School
Westside was alright, although I certainly wasn't in the "in" crowd. I had some really great friends and a lot of fun -- and little did I know that my future husband was there as well!
College
"On, on PC to Victory!" PC was great -- especially the first year -- thanks to some awesome Mayes Babes and a ton of other new friends! A part of me really hated leaving, but it ended up being a blessing in the end. Augusta College (as it was when I first arrived) offered such great experiences, and although I didn't get to fulfill my role as editor of Figs and Thistles at PC, I did get the chance to serve as assistant and then editor-in-chief of phoenix magazine. Again, great friends and wonderful instructors at both institutions mean I can look back at my college days with great fondness!

lege (and multiple restaurant experiences: Pizza Hut, Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday's, Boll Weevil, Mally's) I worked for nearly 3 years as the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Girl Scouts. It was a terrific job where I enjoyed being a part of an exceptional team of staff and volunteers. After the Girl Scouts, I worked briefly for Knology in residential and business sales. Let's just say it wasn't for me. I then joined the staff at Sprint PCS where I climbed the ladder to my favorite job as corporate trainer. I left that job in June of 2004 due to the stress of constant travel (missing my hubby) and also due to lower back issues which were exacerbated by the time spent driving.
Since leaving Sprint, I spent a year studying philosophy to determine whether or not I wanted to pursue my Master's and Ph.D. I have decided that while I enjoy studying philosophy on a personal level, I don't have the passion enough to pursue it full time.
