Tracey's Story

After graduation, I hopped in the car right after the ceremony at the war memorial and headed for Virginia Beach with one of my best friends at the time for the week. We drove down listening to Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood cassette and MC Hammer's cassete (The name of it I can't remember but it had "You can't touch this on it) At the end of the summer I moved to Providence RI and attended Johnson & Wales University (It was the only college that I remember having a recruiter come and talk to us during Mr. Piro's Marketing class. I lived in Rhode Island for 4 years and grauated with my bachelors degree. I can't believe I even graduated!! I met one of my best friends there (she was the only that would drink with me one night during finals.....everyone else was studying. I would have stayed in RI, but my father passed away and I moved back home to be with my family. I stayed in Johnstown for a few months, I was one of the first waitresses at Red Lobster when it opened. I needed a change...so I moved on. I packed up a moving truck with $200 in my pocket and moved to Philadelphia to work at the Four Seasons Hotel. I lived with my friend from Rhode Island (the one who went drinking during finals). We lived in the city and met a ton of celebs while working at the Four Seasons. (Charleton Heston, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, numerous basketball teams and players, and a few more...) I worked hard and partied harder. Since I worked in hotels as well as other friends I had met, als...Expand for more
o friends who worked in the airline industry I was able to travel alot with unbelievable discounts. I have vistited Amsterdam, Beligium, Germany, Denmark, London, Puerto Rico, Rio De Janeiro, and a lot of places in the US. My friend then moved to Alabama and I met my fiance at the time while still living in Philadelphia. With that in mind, I then left the city and moved to the suburbs. I never did get married though. We broke up and I threw my engagement ring over the Ben Franklin bridge that links Phila to New Jersey (I obviously was not thinking clearly, and he will never know) Two months after we broke up, I realized I was going to have a little one. I got back with my boyfriend and moved back to the city. A year after I had my son, things still weren't working out and I did not want to raise my sone in the city. I had my son stay with his nanny while I moved all of my things back to Johnstown. I got back in the car, picked my son up and here we are back in Johnstown seven years now. I cannot be more than happy to be back here. It is such a great place to have kids here. Yes we do have our issues being a smaller town....but that's what makes us who we are. It keep me sane that a plane ride or a small road trio can take me back to the city or far destination when I want to go. I am currently managing a local business. and I love my house with trees, grass and a big yard. My friends in the city are quite jealous we can actually see stars around here.
