Traci's Story

My life in words.... I started my high school journey at Southwest (9th and 10th )after leaving Bingham Jr High (7th & 8th). It was at a time when there were only a few of "us" there. I had a good friend named Deborah V. who later became Homecoming Queen if I remember correctly. I remember riding the bus to school with some characters, Keith and his sister Francis, Darlene, Jackie, Corliss all sisters. I remember hanging out with Erin R. I along with3other young ladies tries out for Redskin Revels ( the yearly talent show i think that was what it was called) anyway we were going to dance to the Pointer sisters "Betcha gotta chick on the side", didn't make it. But Sharon and her sister Vicki did that year. Anyway, those are some of my memories from Southwest. Then I moved to Central. Where.... In high school, I was not the most popular, but I knew people and they knew me. I had a great friend in Sylvia H. better known at the time as "Stink" or "Inky" for those not that close to her. I remember when I made the PomPom squad, that proved to be an interesting time in my life. I must admit though, that ROTC was what made school absolutely great for me. It was there that I found my friend for life, Edna B. ( we still get together today)and of course Gordy. Sgt. Simms, I will never forget him. And the love of my life R.M. Although we had our ups and downs, he to this day will be a friend for life. Then of course there was M.W. boy, we could never get it right. I still think of him with great...Expand for more
fondness and fantastic memories. Some great and some not so great :) And let's not forget J.P. my date to the ROTC ball. That was a night to remember. ( no not like that!) Anyway moving on... I got married right out of high school and had my first child, Loretta. Looking back I was too young and it didn't last long. So I moved back home. I worked and went to school while raising my daughter. I had a son, Brandon shortly after and moved out to raise the kids.We had a great time the three of us. While working in a restaurant I met a guy who would become my second husband, James. We lasted for 16 interesting years. In this union I had (2) more daughters, Alexis and Angelica. I also found the joy of my existence, Carleton, he was the cutiest kid and I couldn't help but make him apart of my family. So here I am with (5) five kids and starting a new life in South Carolina. Amazingly, it would be the best and the worst time of my life. Wouldn't change a minute of it though. From there to here, Las Vegas. Talk about culture shock, strange little place to call home, but home it is. Not sure for how long, it has been 4+ years now, you never know though I may make that change again. I have been in the hotel business now for over 20 years and it looks like I may end up retiring from the business. I have been fortunate to meet many interesting people over the years. But strangely, not many old friends or aquaintances. So, if you are ever in Las Vegas, look me up and I'll show you the town.
