Traci's Story
Life
Life since high school has been a lot of ups and downs. In a nutshell, I married at 20 (too young) and moved to Olympia; started college at 21; got 1st degree (AA) at 23. Moved to Spokane at 24; started university at 25; divorced at 26; remarried at 27; after a difficult pregancy gave birth to a son (Zachary) and graduated with a degree in civil engineering at 29 (all within 2wks).
Then life got interesting. My husband was diagnosed with cancer when my son was 18 mos. We fought his illness for 1 1/2 years - but we lost the fight shortly after Zachary's 3rd birthday. We survived and rebuilt our lives. My son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 5 (so ...Expand for more
many things explained) and behavioral problems (they attibute it to watching his father's illness progress - you need a degree for that diagnosis?).
With an explanation and treatment plan in place our lives improved and Zachary is doing great (they tested his IQ and he's a pretty smart little kid). I finally received my engineering license (fire protection - shifted fields along the way from civil) so my career is definately going where I want it. We met and included a wonderful man into our family (keeping our fingers crossed there).
Despite some other major bumps along the way, these days I consider life good and have no regrets of the paths taken.
