Tracy's Story
After high school, I attended Potsdam College and ended up on the six-year plan. I thought I was an English major, but anthropology kept calling and I finally followed that path and graduated in 1985. I took a short break to get married May 22, 1983...
My minor was in journalism and I worked on the college newspaper where I learned typesetting and page layout. This led to a job as a typesetter for the College Relations office, working with three graphic designers.
I left in 1986 to follow the same field at nearby St. Lawrence University, where I've been a graphic designer for 22.5 years.
My husband was laid off from his public relations job at Mater Dei College (Ogdensburg) in 1996, finally getting a job in writing/editing for the Little Tree Car-Freshner company back in my ...Expand for more
hometown. He quickly learned more about the changes in Watertown and getting around than I knew after living in St. Lawrence County for 17 years. He's still with that company.
In 1998 we sold our house in Norwood (outside of Potsdam) and bought a year-round house on a small inland lake off the Indian River outside of Alex Bay. I live there with my hubby Ron of almost 26 years and our border collie mix dog, Shadow. Yes, I drive 55 miles to work one way.
I serve on the Thousand Islands Girl Scout board of directors and the North Country Council of Social Agencies board. For the latter I coordinate the marketing and public relations. Yup, I met my hubby in college where we were interested in different aspects of the same field.
That's the overview. Hope I haven't bored you!
