Tracy's Story
Life
After graduation, I attended St. Bonaventure University. In 1992, I graduated Cum Laude from there with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. While working for Erie County Social Services, I also attended St. Bonaventure for graduate school. In 1995, I received my Masters of Science in Education, with a specialty in Counseling and Psychology. In January of 1996, I entered the New York State Police Academy, and graduated on July 2, 1996. I was then stationed for my 3 month field training in Binghamton, NY. My first permanent station assignment was Margaretville, near Oneonta. It was a great area, with nice people and lots to do in the Catskill Mountains. However, after a year I transferred back to Binghamton to be closer to my family still in Blasdell. It was in Binghamton that I met and married my husband Marc, a Broome County Deputy Sheriff. While on patrol and in...Expand for more
vestigating multiple auto accidents in a blizzard on Interstate 81, my Troop car was struck by another vehicle that was speeding and had lost control. My back was broken in two places, and I sustained severe nerve damage to my back and right leg. Shortly after, I was officially retired as a Trooper from the New York State Police. My career lasted approximately 5 1/2 years. Now I am a stay at home mom of a 7 year old boy and a 18 month old girl (as of July 2009). Robbie and Emily are the best things that ever happened to me (and to Marc)! Robbie is a very intelligent, funny kid who loves school, his friends, and playing with our 3 dogs, 7 cats, and 1 hamster. Emily is walking and getting into everything!!!Robbie and Emily keep me busy, but I am also in the process of writing a book about my experiences with the State Police. Also, hopefully more kids are on the way!!
