Trish's Story
I'm sorry I have been out of the loop with most of my classmates. I moved to Virginia and then to New Jersey and back to South Carolina in 1985. Did see a bunch of you at the ten year class reunion. It was great catching up with you then but as we all know life happens.
I have two children, son (22) and daughter (20). Now that they are on their own I would love to renew old friendships as I have realized that although my kids needed me during their growing up, I find myself isolated from my old friends and wish I had kept in touch with all of you over the years. I would say that is one regret.
I am currently a District Manager for Colonial Life and love what I do. Getting ready to make some career changes (still with Colonial) that will give me more time to nurture friendships and really enjoy some life. You know we are still young even at 50!
I have been afforded the opportunity to travel some, see countries like Aruba, Bermuda, Spain, Jamaica and even Paris! If you haven't been to Alaska that is a must on the travel list. Finally taking some time to smell the roses and enjoy the beauty on this earth.
Live in Gilbert now but may be relocating to Florence or Myrtle Beach. My life has been a grand adventure, some good, some not so good and some pretty awesome!
Would love to catch up with each of you and who knows perhaps an old friendship restored or a new one created!
I'll never forget the "wall" or sneaking out with Stan Epps to go to Bill's grill or cutting class with Julie and hanging out at the Russell house, or the trip to Myrtle Beach for DECA. God that water was cold! How about all those snowflakes on the stage for the chorus, Rat Day, basketball with Becky Seal, crushes on some basketball players. h class! I actually learned a lot from him in spite of myself. And Frankie Farley, Tom Tueber, Bobby Ogburn if you're out there let us not forget the pranks we played on Madame Hall, parlez vous francais? And my best friend in school, Susan Bunton, who I have missed all these years.
To Billy Morris who always tried to play match maker between me and we know who. You are too much, Billy!
Most of you will remember me as being very quiet, insecure and generally a wall flower - not anymore! I've done a lot of public speaking on domestic violence, talk shows, in a couple of books. I have become a very confident, self-assured woman and love life too much to sit on the sidelines. Just learned to scuba dive in January of this year! Still terrified I will be shark bait though! Actually learned to dance some although Sidney Scoggins was tortured during gym class when we had to dance. Sorry Sidney.
I did sing in a country music band (actually two) when I lived in Jersey. Go figure - country music up north? I wrote a few articles that were published. I guess I could say every dream I have had I have experienced. Making new dreams every day. I always wanted to be a mother, wanted a son first and then daughter. That happened and I have some awesome kids. Wanted a white picket fence so I built it myself. I hope each of you have lived your dreams too! If not, get busy and live! There is truly only one dream I haven't lived yet but there is still a lot of life left, God willing, for me to finally achieve that one. And I am planning to create new dreams so I never run out of things to do. My goal is to write a book about the Misadventures of Trish (or Pat as you all called me). My life has definitely been stranger than fiction.
