Trisha's Story

Hi, Thank you for stopping by my paperback book! I'm sorry if it seemed like I was ignoring anyone, for the last 40 years! I did not pay to join & so couldn't see anything. ** Added later: I am not going to pay for Classmates again but I'm on Facebook! I've lived a lot of different lives. I'm married to a 4th generation SD rancher. We've been together since 2004 & married in 2006. I lived on his big ranch for 6 years. Now we've also bought a house in a little town where my daughter lives. I talked her into moving to South Dakota. How rotten! No, it's a nice set-back-in-time tea party town. Lots of rodeos & cattle sales. They hate the government & that's an understatement. I married Russell Richardson & we had Russell Jr (Rusty.) Russell, who still had to complete his senior year, LOL, owns a successful business in Thornton with his long-time wife, Debbie. Rusty is now the Lieutenant of the Thornton Fire Department which has several stations. He is married with a young son. He has always been so self-disciplined! They're doing great! I was married to Ted Field for 18 years (Colo Sprgs). He died on March 15, 2002. We had a daughter, Tiffany. She & her husband have 3 kids - they're the reason we bought this house. Tiffany is like a female version of her father - thick, almost black hair, olive skin and seemed to be born physically strong. She doesn't hit people, or get even get angry like Ted did, thank God. However, she has a red headed daughter, smart with an even smarter mouth, so I know my genetics live on! I have kittens and 2 ducks to lure my grandchildren over & it works! Their friends come by also, by themselves. It feels like waking up after being on that prairie for 6 years. Joe leased his land out to his best friend to run cattle on. He also has a contract to lease those huge metal windmill-looking things which is appropriate, since we had more wind in Enning, SD than they do in Antartica. Joe drove a truck all over, so I was almost always alone. I built up a pretty good eBay business but now when I see the room with all the things I have for sale, I feel like, ugghh... My daughter has already asked me if she can have the jewelry to sell when I die. I have a one inch mass and a couple more "lit up" spots from radiation tests on one lung. The other is 1/2 collapsed. I thought smoking pot daily wouldn't hurt you! I read that on the internet so it has to be true.LOL And then I quit after 24 years to be able to be there for my grandchildren. Two weeks later, I got sick. SO not fair! Waiting another 5 weeks to see if there is growth. My old country dr doesn't want to do a biopsy until then. He said that sometimes if we leave these things alone, they'll leave me alone. Makes sense to me & I've eaten more fruit and vegetables in the last few months than my whole life put together. I used to think a pkg of Hostess cupcakes made a fine meal. Trying to build up my immune system (now...) It feels awkward and strange to go back in time in my mind to high school & right after. After I've looked at the yearbook, I feel kind of disoriented for a while. I made a lot of terribly bad deci...Expand for more
sions during those years. Russell was SUCH a great guy but I was really messed up emotionally. I think military kids are more likely to experience abuse. My dad was an Army LtCol. It's hard to start over every 3 years (for Army.) as many of you know. I tried to hide behind no eye contact. I know this isn't a very appropriate "What have I been up to" letter. I've always had a hard time being appropriate or even knowing what that would take. But I wanted to say that I didn't dislike everyone. I was very lucky in high school that I (usually) had Russell to hold on to. I don't leave my house very often, but my grandkids are practically forcing me to live, get up and live - come on, Grandma!! We moved into their town in June/July 2011. It's so easy to be your real self when you're with children or seniors (more senior than us!) You don't have to worry about saying or doing the wrong thing. Thank you very much for reading this. I hope you are having a wonderful, joyous life! Trisha ps Jan Tardy: I'm sorry I made your life miserable, but you didn't have to be mean and flip your hair down & shwoosh it back, just as I'm passing you & Russell in the hall, every single time. Never mind - I'm not sorry a bit! Then I lived happily ever after. * Added later: Wanted to give updates on my siblings for those who knew them. Chuck is 3 years old than me. He is now retired from the AF and living in Rapid City. His last station was Minot, ND and he's the one who bought a house in Rapid & began the family migration to South Dakota. He has 2 grown, very successful children & has been married forever to Ginne. He is very involved with volunteer work with kids. Robby is 2 years older. He retired a full colonel from the AF, has 6 children, and a doctorate in Law. He lives in VA (his last job was at the Pentagon in DC) with his forever wife, Debbie. He and his children are living testimonies to the Mormons. Rob joined the LDS church as a young adult and completely turned his life around. 3 of his kids stayed in Utah after graduating from BYU. I am very close to him and Chuck. All 3 of Rob's sons completed 2 year missionaries. I am in awe of him & his family. Ricky is 5 years younger than me. Unfortunately, he is spaced out in Rapid City. He has 3 kids, 4 grandkids & left the AF with a full disability. Debby is 7 years younger. She is married to a retired rock n roller (who played with the Allman Brothers!) and has 2 gorgeous daughters with the longest legs in the world and a beloved grandson who she lets keep a full drum set in their living room! (Only a Grandma!) They live in Las Vegas. Our parents live in a nice assisted living community in Rapid City. Fiinally my Dad gets to socialize!! ps I won't be able to see if you visit my profile or leave a message but there is an Air Academy alumni group on Facebook & either Kris Hobbs or Dale Watts on that page know how to contact me. I also have a Facebook page but if I don't recognize your name, I wouldn't click for you to be a friend - that's why I mentioned Kris and Dale, in case you need to jog my memory. It's been a l o n g time and I put my mind through a lot!
