Trudy's Story
I have one son, Billy, who is 25 and living in the Silicon Valley. I have now done a "do over". I am married to Rick, nine years my junior. We two sons, Benjamin, age 8 and Nathan, age 7. We live on 40 acres in Southern Oregon. The boys are home schooled (I no longer get paid to teach) for a few reasons. Schools here have gone down hill like in California. The two mile drive on the dirt road to the bus stop helped in the decision to home schoolas well. e basis with teh principal. We are raising chickens, but looking into raising goats and soay sheep. The wildlife in abundant. Elk roam the meadow. Deer and turkey are frequent visitors. Coyotes roam our fields. We have been know to have a cougar now and then and a bear greeted us one day. I used to go all the time. I wasn't happy unless I was in a car going somewhere. I am happy and content on my hill. I do as much shopping as possible on line. I am on a first name basis with the UPS, FedEx and DHL drivers. I will do almost anything to avoid leaving home.
