Trudy's Story
Hello Alums,
I was answering the 'Quizzes" section, and realized I could answer 'yes' to most of the questions. LOL Guess I've had a busy life! Didn't realize it..it just flowed well from one thing to another.
After Graduation at Kearny, I went on to Mesa College for one semester. My friend, Karlynn Lake, was with me one night, at Oscar's on PCH, and I met the most wonderful young man. We didn't realize it that night that we would be married for over 37 years, have a wonderful family, and travel the world! That was the plan...and it all happened! Well, the timeline wasn't so finite, but everything else was.
As I was saying, we met in Feb of 66, got married just 2 months later, stayed in San Diego for 3 years and 2 children later, then, thanks to the US Navy, started traveling the world! It was Terrific! And Children are soooo portable! and adaptable to different cultures! We loved living in Spain so much, we had a child born there..our 3rd son, and he didn't speak any English until he was 4 y/o!
We also lived in Japan for a short time, and managed to visit most of the European countries, most in the Orient, including China, several in Africa, and 5 or 6 in S. America. I still want to visit Tahiti, Bor-Bora, and Figii!
When we finally came back to the US, it was to Virginia...and along came our little Daughter!
After Jack retired from the Navy in 1980, I tried my hand at owning a Golden Corral in NC. It was fun, and the people there, very cordial..we were adopted into the community.

n part of the States, so moved to AZ. And here I am today..children all grow, with kids of their own, Hubby passed away 7 years ago. Parents gone. Two of my children live in this city, one in Alaska, one in Oregon. 5 of my 9 grands live here, with their parents, and I am to be a GREAT-granny around Christmas!
During all this moving around, I still managed to complete my BS in Business! Took 27 years to do, but it is done now, so I marked that one off my list!
I still travel when I can, altho' I am slowing down abit. The Desert is beautiful in the spring (all 72 hours of it) and the winters are the BEST! I do try to get out of YUMA for the better part of the summer...oh, yes, it is a DRY heat here...so we are all Crispy Critters with convection Tans from sitting in the shade! I don't care what anyone says...110+ is still hot!
AT the Class of '65's, 30 yr Reunion, I reconnected with several of my classmates. We continue to email on a regular basis. I look forward to seeing more alums at the 'All 60's Bash' in October 2009. And would also like to hear from any of you that would care to email. When I am home, especially in the summer, I spend an awful lot of time at the computer! It's cool in this room!
Hugs! TrudyAnn
