Tyann Wallace (Nauman) here!
Since high school, I attended the UofA for two years, played my flute in the marching band (Go Cats!) and also the concert band. There I met Dan who was also in the marching band. We married in 1970. We now have four adult children, Tonia, Brad, Tassa and Tia. After living in Mesa,AZ for one year, we both decided we wanted to live in a small town in the Midwest. We chose Michigan mostly because Dan was born and spent 11 years here before he and his family moved to Tucson in 1959. We loaded up and headed for MI in 1980 and have lived in Portland ever since.
Dan retired after 32 years in education, mostly as a principal. I spent many years working at home while the kids were in school and home. I graduated from Lansing Community College with a degre...Expand for more
e in Child Developement. With that I ran my own daycare business for nine years. I also worked three years as a Title I Parapro for Portland Schools.
For the past eight years I have run a nail salon from our home.
Vegetable gardening and landscaping are favorite hobbies as are sewing and photography. I'm a country girl at heart!
I also enjoy going to and watching football games with Dan. We are Michigan State fans, as that is where Dan got his Masters Degree and our daughter Tassa and her husband Kyle graduated from. Go Spartans! We still follow the Wildcats too!
We live in Michigan but after all these years still miss the desert and Tucson. Dan's and my Mom still live in Tucson, so we visit often. We hope to spend some winters away from the cold and snow there in the sunshine!
