Ug's Story
A lot has changed since high school. That was a great night when I got the facial tatoos. Too bad I got in a fight later and lost my tooth. Shouldn't have knocked over those Harleys outside the Log Cabin in Glenwood. Still have the photo, though, to remind me how much fun it was. Been married 6 times, never divorced. Not sure how many kids I have. Fortunately I was able to have the tatoos removed and get some good dental work done.
Don't remember a whole lot about high school, but everybody keeps telling me awesome stories about things I did. Wish I could remember it. I vaguely remember the three days in jail after trying to drive Mr. Singer's VW bug on the gym roof. I guess physics wasn't my best subject. I recall the band trip to Victoria, but only because the RCMPs put me on the first ferry out of there. I didn't realize those guys in red suits are cops, otherwise I would have left the horse alone. Recently tried out for American Idol. Didn't make it past the first round, Simon Cowell said I sounded like a humpback whale choking on a dying cow who was playing taps on a bent tenor saxophone. He clearly knows nothing about music.
Got cited while reading a book and driving. The book was about post-modern deconstruction literary criticism by Derrida. I told the officer that the ticket was a meaningless representation of empty presuppositions.. He told me if I could pay $3.50 to the Loch Ness monster and bring him a receipt that he'd rip up the ticket. I mapquested my metaphors to get directions but still got lost between Analogy and Hyperbole.
I realize now that there are only two possible outcomes to any given paradox: The right outcome, the outcome I will eventually take, and the outcome that I'm in denial about. It's subtle, I know.
Why do so many dentists have bad breath? Why do so many doctors smoke? Why do actors think they can save the world? It just doesn't matter.
