Utanah's Story
I am Utanah Stipsky (Williams). I married after graduation and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dave, my husband, is a coach so we moved a lot the first 20 years of marriage. We lived in Monticello,AR,Blytheville,AR., Charleston, South Carolina, Searcy, AR, Carlisle,AR and then to Pocahontas, AR and have been here for 27 years. He is still coaching. I retired 2 years ago. I operated a day care for teachers children. Now I operate a daycare for my grandchildren (ha). We have 8 grandchildren ranging in ages 19 to 3. The 3 year olds are twin boys. My husband is head football coach and Atheletic Director at Pocahontas High School. My son is head coach at Southside High School in Ft. Smith and my daughter teaches at Euper Lane in Ft. Smith. Our youngest daughter works for Social Security in Jonesboro but lives in Paragould. My time is spent running from Ft. Smith to Pocahontas to Paragould...love being retired.

My life changed in Nov. of 2013. My husband had colon cancer and passed away. It happened quickly in a matter of 6 weeks. He had coached for 45 years and 33 of those years were spent in Pocahontas,AR. He is greatly missed not only by his family but by the community. The adjustment has been difficult and I'm blessed with 3 wonderful children who make sure their Mom is ok. This is a new process in my life and it is taken one day at a time. This community has been amazing to our family. Two of my children are teachers in Ft. Smith. One is head coach at Southside High School (football) so I attend those games as often as I can but the other Friday nights I'm still a Pocahontas Redskin fan. My daughter is a teacher at Euper Lane. My youngest daughter lives in Paragould and works in Jonesboro for Social Security. Thankful to have her only 45 miles from me. Enjoy my 8 grandchildren and they can keep me busy.
