Ute's Story
Life
Aloha Ya'll,
Well, life has taken me in some very unique directions over the past (uh couple of) years. Most of you remember that I joined the military shortly after HS. Well, two years ago I retired as a CW3! Yep, I did 22 years in the Army. It took me to many interesting and a few not so intersting places around the globe. That is the reason I joined and probably stayed for so long. I have been to: Germany, Japan, Italy, Guam, France, Turkey, did a tour at home in HI, way up north in Alaska, Canada, Korea, and have seen a good chunk of the mainland.
I am now settled in southern Georgia with a very wonderful husband that I met at the end of my military career. He is also retired from the Army. He has three boys from his first marriage, his oldest is serving his second tour in Iraq. His other two are here with us in GA....Expand for more
The middle one is nearly 20 and lives a couple of blocks down the road. The youngest is 17 and living with us. I on the other hand brought three big dogs into the marriage. It is all working out OK.
My parents are living in Central TX and my sister lives next door to them. This was a blessing as she lost her second husband shortly after they were wed to the war in Iraq. He was killed in action, OCT 03. She was eight months pregnant with their first child when the Army delivered the grave news. It was a very difficult time for all of us. Her baby girl was born 4 weeks later and has been growing into a beautiful and feisty little girl. She also has two boys from her first marriage. They are all doing well.
Life has its ups and down, but in general, life is great! Hope you are all doing likewise.
Aloha,
Ute...
