V.A. Zabridis:  

I left Saltville on 14 November 1979 and entered the United States Air Force in 1979. In the USAF I was a Pararescue Jumper (PJ) for 2 years, and then became a Combat Search and Rescue Survival Instructor. Was stationed in Okinawa Japan, Korea, Philippines, Plattsburgh NY, Shaw AFB SC, Korea again,and then Germany. Left the USAF in 1990, but within a couple of months, I was called back for the first Gulf War, and spent 6 months in Riyahd, Saudi Arabia. In civilian life since 1990, I returned to Korea to work for the Department of Defense as a Security Consultant. Then in 1992 I went to Hawaii to take a position as a Territory Sales Manager in military sales. Was in Hawaii until 1995. I then started my own business in military consumer sales in Seattle Washington. In 1998 I sold my business, and took a Country Military Sales Director position for a US company in Korea, and lived in and worked from Bangkok, Thailand until 2001.
