Val's Story
Once I got away from BCHS, I went for a few months and travelled around Europe alone, then went to Fort Lewis College in Durango. I was in Durango for about 6 years total studying Geology and working as a snowboard instructor, snowboard shop in the winter and skateboard shop and restaurants in the summer. I spent way too much time having fun and too little time studying but I wouldnt change that. From there I went and spent a year in South America travelling around with my future wife, Christine, where we spent time snowboarding, mountaineering, ice climbing, and travelling in general. Came back to the states and went thru culinary school, graduated with Alpha Beta Kappa honors and became a chef. Since then I have worked in the food business in a variety of ways including being a master cheesemaker for a small goat cheesemaking farm near Boulder, cheese spec...Expand for more
ialist for Wild Oats, and currently as a speciaty foods broker. My wife and I have a great little girl and 3 dogs and live in a nice little house in Golden.
I play guitar and bass and have been playing in punk and metal bands for almonst ten years now, even opening for some major bands.
I still love to hang out with friends, hike and climb and work on art. I love to spend time with my daughter and wife, especially outdoors. I collect rare records and spend lots of time continuing my studies of food. I would one day like to write a book about the history of food.
I wonder how others remember me from HS. I know that I was somewhat crude and obnoxious at times but hopefully never a total ass. I miss a lot of people from BCHS but have lost touch with most of them unfortunately.
Tell me a story that you remember. My memories of high school are a bit hazy.
