Valentina's Story
Graduated from Community High in 1980 with 3.5 GPA. Then off to Southern California for 2 years of life learning. Back to Michigan in 1983. EMU 1983 - 1986 studying computer programming. Studies interrupted by life. Married in 1995. One and only child (a girl) born 1998. Divorced summer of 2001. Went back to college shortly thereafter and continue today (only part time in evenings; 2 out of 3 semesters per year) but have changed my goal to being an elementary school teacher majoring in math. Currently, my daughter is in middle school (YIKES!) and I, like many others, am 'between jobs'. UPDATE 2012: I have relocated my life to Asheville, North Carolina. nce program for my daughter, the cost of living is lower here, I found a job after being out of work for 3 years in Michigan and it is BEAUTIFUL! Now, if they could just straighten out the roads for me....I've never remotely liked rollercoasters and here I am in a place where the roads are like driving on a rollercoaster...well life is full of challenges and this is just the latest one. It doesn't feel like home yet but I'm working on it. My only child is now 14 years old, an accomplished dancer and honor student who wants to be a veternarian when she grows up. I still want to be an elementary school teacher - just taking a year off so I don't have to pay the out of school tuition. First 50 years completed....50 more to go!!!
