Valerie's Story

Life Graduated & married same month, then Jason Gerard Schrammel arrived shortly afterward making everyone smile! Time passes much too quickly... and we lose touch with a lot of people, sometimes even ones who end up not being far away. Haven't been able to contact Stan Halulko, he was the Best man at my first wedding. Made several phone calls, went to his old house ~ even sent a letter through Classmates.com; CAN ANYONE HELP? Spent a few years as a Military spouse which took me, of all places **now don't get too excited with this part ~ ALL THE WAY TO NEW JERSEY!!! Hey, calm down, I tried to warn you about getting emotional... All kidding aside, I met some people there who are still very precious to me & that's where my daughter Jenelle Grace Schrammel was born 23 May 79,in Red Bank. After I left Jersey with my 2 children in December '81 & moved back to Slatington, things got unbelievably hectic during the course of trying to make ends meet. Worked mornings at Halston Products sewing skirts, then did the closing shift at McDonalds, Octoberfest waitressed for my sister Marjorie at her restaurant & cleaned their Hotel when regular lady was unavailable, also sewed baby carriers at home. Relocated, remarried & back to changing diapers, 1984 Robert Oliver Jones was born. Stopped working all those jobs to stay home with the 3 children. Eased back into workforce part- time at Mini Market until construction of I78 shut the place down. BJ's Wholesale Club later filled the gap with a better offer. 1997 Best Buy #587 Grand Opened in Whitehall, Pa. Position eliminated in 2004. Opportunity knocked at Value City Furniture in June 2005 with phone call from Manager I'd previously worked with, alas Frank & I have both moved on. Currently doing Security at Lutron thru Day & Zimmerman. * Was great having my son Jason back home when I lost my job in 2004. He's been working as a licensed Lawn care Specialist for many years. People keep saying "That's your son? Oh my God you have a 30 year old! " Yup, he's all that & then some!! * Jenelle hit the lovely #30 already ~ After a series of waitressing jobs, I convinced her to quit that field & try reta...Expand for more
il... starting with Best Buy. Next she moved up to Management at General Nutrition Center. After bouncing her around, they gave the girl GNC stores in Lancaster area to run. She's back in the Lehigh Valley now. * Yikes... my youngest, Robert is 25! He hits the road most days delivering for Fed Ex Ground & last year bought a route of his own so he's been MOVIN' ON UP * My brother Rodney Mummey retired from teaching at Northern Lehigh. * Mom passed away 3 August 2008. ** << MY BEST MEMORIES OF FT. MONMOUTH, NJ >> Seeing "Arthur" with Joe & that walk back to his car, the shoulder I cried on ( still yearn for his shoulder today when trouble strikes), an unforgettable gorgeous smile, waves crashing on the beach in the chilly night air, magnificent blue eyes ~ Children playing behind Military quarters on Pinebrook Road ~ Dancing to Skynyrd with Smitty ~ Lessons Semyone & I learned from his Sergeants web of lies ~ Tammy confiding in me ~ Marshall Tucker Band's bus at 7-11 in Tinton Falls ~ My sisters running thru pouring rain, Babe & Lil do get rather silly ~ Mike Looney's wife Kim taking me for a puppy, then my heart was broken having to give him away on my birthday ~ Taking off from the MP Co with Chris's Firebird ~ Jason's animated story of Smitty butchering a deer in our storage shed ~ Easter basket for "Trish" ~ Suprising Looney with birthday cake I baked ~ Pulling my children in Jason's wagon down Helms & Pinebrook Roads ~ Impromptu birthday party with practically every kid in the neighborhood ~ Commissary & PX prices!!! ~ Lastly >> I've located my lost friend after running into a brick wall... A New York step-mom's comment helped track that "Free Bird". He found Travesty of Justice interesting, wants to help in my quest to clear innocent mans record! Guess Sarge thought this was a joke... Well, his sense of humor always was rather sick!!! ** Had to leave the apartment I went to in 2006 while looking for peace of mind. Stuck back at the house for now. Moving this time was an even bigger pain in the butt. Keeping my eyes & ears open for better job opportunities, Security at this level bites, BUT I'M STILL SMILING ~ I just tell people that it's lunacy
