Update January 2016 My son is almost 23 now and is so busy working I am sure that he wished he had two of himself. He and his girlfriend, Kirsten are planning a trip to Japan this year. Last year Fritz's Dad, Roger, died at the age of 92.5. He was the best husband, Dad, and Grandpa in the whole world. Roger played football in high school and then became a pilot in the Navy in WWII. He also played football for the Navy and back then they traveled to their games on the weekends via train. After retiring from the Navy, he worked at Doehler Jarvis (where he met his wife). Several years later they were married and Roger started his own company Pioch Die & Mold. Roger is missed greatly. He was one of those men that other men strive to be - honest, moral, work ethic, and family oriented. Two days after we buried Roger, one of rescue dogs had to go to sleep. She had a very aggressive form of mouth cancer and had 3 weeks from the time she was diagnosed until she died. Her name was Hannah and she was one of the most joyous Goldens I have ever seen. She is buried next to Leah and now I am in charge of her sister, Sofie. Hannah watched over her sister and took great care of her. She was loyal, devoted, fun, sweet, and is also missed. Please remember to adopt an older dog that no longer has a home. They end up being the most loving doggies. I am still working on Etsy and Ebay selling items (vintage Christmas items) and Fritz is busy, busy with work. December 2014 Update: My son is 21 almost 22 and he and his girlfriend are living near Bowling Green University where she attends Graduate School. Lance is so busy programming that he has had to hire additional employees (even me for some work). Lance was able to visit his girlfriend when she was in England for a semester and they also traveled to Scotland. This year they went up to Canada for a Scottish Festival and next year they are heading to Colorado. I have been busy with my Etsy Stores valeriesvintages.com. Fritz and I are deciding when we are going to sell our house in Ottawa Hills and move to warmer climates (Florida). His sister has already bought a duplex in Florida and has started moving her things down there. His parents are still alive and kicking in Toledo (Dad is 92, Mom is 86) - so for now we are staying close to them. We will probably keep our condo at Catawba Island so we will always have a place to come home to in the summer and go fishing on Lake Erie. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this year. Our son is the best thing that happened to both of us and we are so proud of him and his accomplishments post college. Our Golden Retriever, Leah, of 14 years died very quickly and I was so heartbroken that I went out and rescued two Senior Golden Retrievers. You should have seen Fritz's face when I told him I found a dog, but she had a sister. Please adopt older dogs that have been abandone...Expand for more
