Valerie's Story
High School seems like a million years ago....yet some days it seems like last week. The years are marked not by me, as I dont usually think of things in that way, but by the ages of my children and grandchildren. The shock is I always dreamt of living in Montana but have found myself in Florida for the past 29 years.
I have 4 children, two girls, Alison & Adrien and two boys, David & Kenny. From the first "batch" of kids, Ali, Adge & Dave, I've got 6 Grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Tessa is 8, Ryan is 7 1/2, Alyssa is 6 1/2, Tate is 6, Codi the little princess is 3 and Alex is 2 1/2. The new babies are coming in July (a girl named McKenna) and late September. It is too soon to know if that is a boy or girl yet.
Honestly, there was a while where I looked at my life and summed it up as a big waste. The one thing that seemed to be a constant was my talent for making not so hot choices....Expand for more
The older I get the more humor I see in the whole long strange trip. Now I look around and see that even though the first marriage was a disaster (I was 19 he was 31. I was his 3rd wife! LOL) I ended up with 3 pretty cool kids. Yes, they have brought more than a little drama into the picture but we are at a point that we can all look back and laugh about it. Besides, the first batch has all reproduced.....I guess they didn't catch on to that "what goes around comes around" phrase lol. So it is my role in life to spoil the grandbabies as much a humanly possible and then stand back and watch.
In July I will be starting out on a new venture as my "now" job is being outsourced to Uraguay. Not sure how it will all work out but at this stage I'm in it for the fun and whatever is meant to be will be.
Is this the life I forsaw? "Hell no!" Would I have traded it for any other??? "Nah, not today."
