Valerie's Story
Okay! So after graduating from MC, I completed my BA in English at The City College of New York. Upon graduation, I embarked upon a teaching career/vocation with the Brooklyn Diocese. I taught in Brooklyn Catholic schools until my husband and I started a family and had our first-born son. At that time, I had just completed my master's degree from Queens College in Secondary English Education. n. I was a stay-at-home mom for the duration of their school years, although I returned to the classroom (this time, for the Board of Ed)when my younger son started sixth grade. Fortunately, it worked out very well: our schedules were perfectly synchronized, although it was a very busy time. Presently, I am still working with the Board, but as full-time Literacy Coach at my school. Life has had its ups and downs, but mostly, it's been beautiful! The Lord has blessed me and continues to bless me--my most current blessing is my first baby grandson born two months ago!
