Valerie's Story
Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise?
Well, I always dreamed of getting married, having a family, living on a little farm with horses, cows, you get the picture.
As it turns out, I'm divorced, I have a son in the military and another going into high school; I'm living in a condo in sunny San Diego and working at a University! Talk about a change...

my life. I never expected to be a grandmother before I was 50 either but turns out I was only 45. I have been blessed with a grandson who is the apple of all our lives.
I'm looking forward to the next 50 years! I've been through things that I never thought I would survive and have become stronger for them.
I love my life now, even with the bumps, twists and turns. I'm finally comfortable in my own skin, something I never thought I would ever say!
