Vance's Story

The details of my life seem quite inconsequential. My father was a relentlessly self-improving business owner from the Philippines with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the internet. My childhood was typical, summers in Wisconsin, luge lessons. In the spring we'd catch fireflies and sell them for candy and soda pop. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard stuff really. At the age of 12, I received my first slide rule and so set me on the path to where I am today. After attending the University of Michigan and obtaining a degree in Engineering, I moved to southern California and went to work for a defense contractor. My specialty was designing air to ground missiles and other assorted military hardware. For a respite from the demands of my job I’d play the didgeridoo in a Reggae band. After 6 years in California I moved back to Illinois with my wife and a new child. Shortly thereafter I obtained my pilots license and started doing test pilot work for both the Military and NASA. Through this work I made many connections with various clandestine agencies within the U.S. government. Then my life took a dark and twisted turn, much of the information about which has been classified by the C.I.A. until 2050. Murder, Intrigue? Yes. Late night rendezvous with enemies both foreign and domestic? Yes. The rest of it I dare not speak. Update 2022 Wow, it’s been almost 10 years since I wrote the above life story. I thought I would give an update on what’s been going on since then. A...Expand for more
round 2014 I began experimenting with remote controlled drones. I developed a set of hardware and software that enables a drone to fly around and even thru buildings without outside assistance. Here is a video of one of my early experiments of a drone flying thru my own house autonomously. hxxps://youtu.be/oZLT3RVeswA (Note! unfortunately Classmates does not allow hyperlinks so you will have to copy and paste the URL to your browser and change the (x's) in the above address to (t's) if you would like to view it. Shortly after I published my work, I was contacted by Raylan Givens, Deputy Chief of the Miami office of the U.S. Federal Marshals Service. He asked me if I would like to head up their video surveillance division. So, at the height of the pandemic in 2020, we sold our house in Oswego and moved to Florida! As a division head, I had to be fully trained as a U.S. Marshal so shortly thereafter I was enrolled in the 19-week training program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. Here is a video of me completing an intensive live fire training course. hxxps://youtu.be/P1pZ_ws4CtE (Again, you will have to change x's to t's and cut and paste if you would like to see it). Note, all trainees are required to wear period correct garb during the course of their training. I posted a picture of myself at graduation in the photo album. Suffice to say, I no longer meet with enemies both foreign and domestic. Instead, I spy on them! Late nights in a van with my drones flying silently over homes and buildings. Video and imaging infrared cameras that can see thru curtains and even walls. Oh, the things I’ve seen! The rest of it I dare not speak. Until next time .............

Out flying RC planes today. Great weather but too windy. I flew first and only got in one flight before we decided to call it quits. Kevin managed to break his plane anyway when a wind gust flipped it over on the ground..
