Vanessa's Story
Life
I joined the Navy in 1997, it's been almost 10 years. I will be getting out of the military soon and starting a business in Pensacola, Florida. I enjoyed living in Japan but I didn't get to see that much. While serving on the USS Kitty Hawk it deploys a lot. I have two sons, Andrew and David. I met my husband at USF in 1990. We've been married 15 years.
Military
I joined the Military in 1997. I have been to Corry Stat...Expand for more
ion a few times, and earned 4 NECs. I have had a lot of network and computer training. I also had training for shipboard electronics.
I've been a CTM (Cryptologic Technician Maintenance) my whole career and luckily am leaving the military before the job field is gone. The military has been downsizing the Navy as a whole and has been merging similar job fields.
I have advanced well and am now ready to go on to another career.
