Vanessa Burks:  

Life As I stepped my toe over the 40 yard line into middle age I realized that it wasn't the horror that I'd expected. In fact, I'm having the best time of my life so far! I'm back in college and working toward a bachelor's degree in technical writing. At one class a semester it will only take me 8 more years to graduate! I work in the public schools for the library services and as a substitute, which is always an adventure. It's the perfect job for me because it allows me to have the same schedule as our son as well as gives me the flexibility to work around my college schedule. I do some commercial acting locally and am in my 10th year as part of an acting team with our church. This summer (2007) I got to play a 74 year old woman, feisty and sassy, in a 1950's era show called "Uncle Phil's Diner". I'm also a writer of children's Christian curriculam & drama as well as children's fiction. Anyone in the field of publishing? We have one son, a beagle/basset hound and a mean cat.
