Vermetta's Story
Well after high school, I went to Phoenix College. I got hooked up with my childhood sweetheart Bryce and had a son, Jerel. He is now 23, on his own and has a son himself. I then went unto ASU. I didn't finish so I went home to the Hopi Res. and worked for the Headstart Program for about 11 years. That was a great job to have because those children are a bundle of joy.
While home I started having more children, (all boys), Jared, Bryan, and Vance (shucks should have never went home, lol). No, they're great guys to have around. They are now all teenagers and all into girls, oh dear me.
Well ten years ago, we lost their father, he passed on. I have been a single parent ever since. My children and I have all grown closer together as a result of that. So my ad...Expand for more
ulthood has been very rough.
I finally finished my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, my children and I are all in good health, so with that in mind, we are all doing great.
I have been working at Northland Pioneer College on the Hopi Reservation as the Center Manager for 5 years now. Not sure what the future has in toll for me. Pretty much content with raising my children on the Hopi reservation as we have many, many, cultural opportunities for them to engage in throughout the year. Of course my goals revolve around my children until they are out on their own, hopefully real soon. haha.
