Verna's Story

Life Hey Guys: I hope a lot of my classmates get to read this. At 57, I am the grandmother of two. They are just adorable, Myles, who is 10 and Madison, who is 5. Due to illness, I was forced to go into retirement at an early age. I am still residing in Roanoke. I am divorced. I spend most of my time going to Church, loving on the Lord, and doing whatever come next. I've had a good life. My good days outweigh my bad days. I donot have any regrets. I feel as though, I've grown gracefully, and the Lord has shown favor on my life. We have lost a lot of 1968 classmates. Some to the war, some to sickness, some to misfortune, and some to just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. So, when we think of them, we just salute their life, We salute their life because we know we to will have to take that journey one day. We are getting ready for our 40 year Class Reunion. I look forward to seeing all of you there. Until we meet again, May God bless you and may the peace of the Lord be with you. Verna Anderson Whitten Well Guys, I just had a birthday. I am now 58. Xmas is my favorite holiday. I get turned on by the hustle and bustle of the Season. I never have a lot of money to do what I would like. But the Lord always show up and show out, blessing me in being a blessing to someone else. We tend to forget the real purpose of this heartfilled Holiday. The birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is why we honor this joyous occassion. The reason we can look foreward to a brand new life in Heaven praising and lifting up the Lord. rthday was a little different from all others. I stepped out of self, and I asked the Lord from this day forward to use me anyway He saw fit, and to put a desire in my heart that I may love others, to be more tolerate of others, and to practice patience. We are only here for a short time. We can be here today, and gone tomorrow. Whatever time I have here on this Earth, I want to do it pleasing the Lord. And when it is all over, I want him to say, "well done, you good and faithful servant." The Class of 1968 had a blast this summer. We had a cookout, and we also had another affair during the big Class Reunion. We had a good turn out. We are now looking forward to our 40 year Reunion. I surely hope the Class members will come out. It was fun seeing each other. So, please put forth an effort to come. The year is getting ready to end. I would like to wish everyone a Merry Xmas, and a Happy New Year. Classmates.com is a good way to connect. Hey Guys: We just celebrated our 40-year Class Reunion July12, 2008.
