Vernal's Story
After graduation, I worked in an auto body shop as a repairman until 1973. I applied for and got hired in Sun Prairie as a Police Officer. That started my Law Enforcement career. Next I went /worked as a Police Officer for the City Of Madison for the next 25 years. I retired from MPD in 2000, took a year off and then went to work part time for the U.S. Marshals. red that at 65 years old, I was getting to an age that maybe I should retire, so I did. That ended 13 years with them. I sure wouldn't want to go through those 40 years again. I'm glad I did but wouldn't want to do it over.
I'm married and have two kids and this coming November will be our 50th anniversary. Don't know how my wife put up with me for all those years.
