Vernon's Story
Vernon is from Arcadia, California. Vernon's schools include Temple City High School. Vernon Crowder is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Kings River Conservancy. His primary objective is to work with local stakeholders to determine the optimal course of action to maximize the environment and access benefit of the lower Kings River.
Vernon served as Senior Vice President and Senior Analyst for Rabobank’s Food & Agribusiness Research and Advisory group. He managed a team which analyzed and conducted market research on California agribusiness as well as the North American fresh fruit and produce sectors.
During his tenure with Rabobank, Crowder was a member of an elite group of approximately 80 analysts around the world researching subjects of strategic interest to companies and customers within food, agribusiness and agriculture sectors.
Before joining Rabobank in 2010, Crowder served as Senior Vice President, Senior Client Manager and Agricultural Economist for Bank of America for 11 years, analyzing the agricultural industry, agribusiness, commodity prices and food processors. He managed a diverse portfolio of commercial clioents in the san Joaquin Valley 2001-09.

Crowder earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA at the University of California, Riverside. He is a graduate of the California Agricultural Leadership Program and attended the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
Crowder served on the boards of directors for the Produce Marketing Association and the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation and on the water resources and agriculture committees for the California Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the University of California, Riverside Chancellor’s Agricultural Advisory Council, and ag lending committees for both the California Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association. He recently served on the Fresno county civil Grand Jury 2019-22.
Vernon has a son in Santa Cruz and a daughter in Prather, California. Both have families, which includes Vernon's two grandsons. At his 50th High school reunion, Vernon answered a classmate's question at the reunion telling her he was most interested in being married again. He met Lisa Rosenquist four weeks later that year , and they were married May 20, 2022, in Yosemite.
