Veronica's Story

Followed my dream and am now living on Whidbey Island. It is absolutely breathtaking ...I sit on my porch and watch the deer and their babies play not 50 feet from me and they know I'm there....the island is full of artists and writers...June 2012 unfortunately my infection has come back into my hip and am facing new surgery and a very uncertain future....we get dealt some bad hands in life's cards but have to d\work with them none the less.....Will update this once I have been to the specialist in Seattle....PS Granchild # 5 is due November 7th...I am so blessed

2011...Have been to a place for my second visit and have found that part of heaven on earth I wish to live out my life...Whidbey Island, Washington...beauty that words cannot describe...people whose friendliness cannot be compared and family who I miss so much and would love to spend more time with...I have given Florida a chance but it is not to be and I am bound for the Pacific Northwest as soon as I am able....Did you know that Alaska and Canada are only steps away from there....see everyone at the 60th birthday bash in 2012 but I'll still be a year younger than everyone else( haha)...Salmon, King Crab and Penn Cove mussells here I come... be ready for me...and everyone has an open invitation to come and visit once I'm settled!!! It is in a tsunami zone but I will have many extra pairs of arm floaties for anyone who comes to visit!!!! PS Now have grandchild #4...Jacob who is the smilest ( guess that's a word) and happiest child on earth...I am so lucky....stay tuned for the next chapter soon to be coming to you from the Pacific Northwest..Puget Sound Bound I am......
Just an update....
Due to a bad post surgical infection after a hip replacement have returned to South Florida to wait out the winter to make sure I am stable enough to survive on the new hip.....meanwhile would love to get together with some old classmates while I am down here... would love to hear from old classmates..
If anyone remembers me I would be greatly suprised. Honor roll and Band did NOT make one popular or memorable......
Like everyone else I've heard from I took my own cosmic trip that lasted way longer than expected and I have drifted along in life .....never became the great success I had hoped for but have had a very fun adventureous life....
My family had a farm outside Asheville, NC and I spent several years attending art and textile schools until I realized I wasn't the best so.....Expand for more
..Lived on top of Mt Mitchell for a season and found that spirituality we all look for....
Got pregnant and moved back to Miami and my daughter was adopted as I still( at 23) was a child myself....
Moved back to NC to take care of my ailing Mother and went nowhere for a while....Snow took me to New Hampshire and have been here since Dec 1980..
Married the ski instructor(bad move)divorced the ski instructor(smart move) and took my talents for textiles and color and went into the "schmatta" business.....translated I was the administrator of a knitwear company. Took it from turtlenecks for Orvis to producing knitwear lines for Ralph Lauren, DKNY,Burberry's,LLBean, Eddie Bauer, etc....If you've seen " The Devil Wears Prada" that's exactly what life in the garment industry was all about....all work, beautiful clothes but NO personal life...
At 40 something my sister offered to take me to Europe and so I quit the business and since then I have been floating along in life....at 50 my daughter found me through (amazingly) Classmates.com and we have been enjoying a Baltimore to New Hampshire relationship ever since. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren Caroline Isabelle, Isaac Benjamin and Gabrielle Faith.5,3,1...
Right now I'm at my weekend job at a Marina on Lake Winnepausakee( largest lake in NH) and during the week I do Human Resources for a non profit which deals with people with developmental disabilities...makes one's life's problems seem rather insignificant after being with our individuals....
Broke off last January with the love of my life (HIS CHOICE..mid life crisis..had heart surgery and suddenly middle aged and loyal
( me) wasn't working for him and he set out looking for perkier boobs and biker babes ) so I'm flying solo again....
Would love to corresponde with anyone from NMSH ...wonder if anyone remembers Sam Harris, the music intern we had in 69-70..he runs a World wide Lobbyist group called "RESULTS" which deals with eliminating Worldwide HUNGER..LOOK UP THE WEBSITE...HELP IF YOU CAN...He is an amazing person and his organization also has a side that loans money to people in third world countries to give them the ability to take their particular talent and make it into a business....these people only need a few hundred dollars and they can support their familes and eat and live...If you have the want to help please go to "Results.com- Samuel Daly Harris...he was so good to us music students and now he is doing wonderful things for the world...
