Veronica's Story
Greetings WRHS! I often wonder what all of my buddies, sistahs, guy pals, and ex-beaus from WR are now doing. So drop me a line so that I won't have to keep guessing!... In case you're wondering: I am doing well. My family just moved to SC from NY. I have been married for the past 20 years to Terrell Patrick of TN (a diehard Volunteer fan). We have 4 wonderful, intelligent, gorgeous, well-mannered kids- a far cry from what I myself was at their ages (LOL)! I have a Master's degree in Health Promotion but currently work as a service chief, managing a department of volunteers. In my spare time I read, cook, take walks, and hang out with my kids. I became a Christian a few years ago and, WOW, what a difference it has made in my life!
I would love to hear from you and catch up on old times. I am not a member of "classmates" so I can't access my guestbook. :(
But you can try IM'ing me on y*hoo: veronicajp2000.
School
I would NOT do high school over again even if you PAID me! LOL
College
I attended so many colleges before I finally earned my Bachelor's degree that I lost count! Think I'm lying? Let me see if I can remember them: Mercer University... Macon State College... Macon Tech... Columbus State University... Rege...Expand for more
nt's College... Empire State College...
Whew! I think that's it... Between military moves and caring for children, college was initially not a priority for me. And to be honest, at times, I just downright lacked the motivation. But I've learned that sometimes we have to push our feelings aside in order to achieve something worthwhile. What am I trying to say to you who are reading this? Never give up. Take one class at a time and keep pushing towards your goals for your education. It will eventually pay off.
Workplace
After earning my Bachelor's degree, I tutored for several years and then started Grad school. I later worked as a Counselor for transitioning military servicemembers. After my move to SC, I started my own business as a Career Consultant and did that for over a year. To have more job security, I ended up getting a federal job with Department of the Army as a volunteer program manager and I later transferred to the VA.
Military
After attending Mercer University for a year, I did a brief stint in the military as a Medical Specialist. Although I am very patriotic and support military servicemembers, this is a time in my life that I personally prefer to forget. I admit it- I am NOT military material! :)
