The day after my high school graduation, I was 1700 miles away in the military. I served three years and then I started Illinois State. The GI Bill was the way I was able to get my first degree. I loved school and almost all the activities associated with college. After a bachelorette degree in special education, I returned to the military as a Marine Corps officer. I caught a strong desire to fly their machines and officer pay was much better than teacher's pay. I came close to flying but I got grounded. After the marines, I owned my own little airplane. I returned to Illinois State and almost finished a master's in counseling psychology (I did everything but take the 2 hour final exam).
