Vicki's Story
Life
Hello Classmates.
Some of you may recall my maiden name of Bergeron. I married Kevin Downs. We have been together for 20 years. Smartest thing I ever did. We are really happy with two kids. We work hard and play hard. So not too much has changed. We are enjoying life in Rockford, Illinois. We actually live in a little unincorporated area right outside of Winnebago, Illinois on 2 acres. Kinda out in the country but 20 minutes from Rockford shopping. We are into snowmobiling and boating and camping and fishing... we love traveling. We have been to Mexico a few times and the Dominican Republic and Florida and you name it. We love to Snorkel in the ocean. We love to cook and come up with new receipies for camping and at home. On the Grill and oven. We all try to one up each other with our culinary efforts. As of 2/2011 Zach is 19 & Kelli is 16. The three of us are July birthdays. Kevin is in October. We are a close family and things are going well for us.We are blessed with good health and devoted to the same life priorities. I'd love to hear from any of my 1981 classmates. friend of mine. I was lacking the blond hair factor so I got over looked plenty. I was smart and funny and friendly and pretty in my own brunette curvey way. But never a top 10 choice or top 20 choice of the boys at SHS. I was happy to be friends with the fellows that I had crushes on. It made life a lot easier and highschool so much more enjoyable not to have the drama of dealing with crushes. I dated very little in highschool. I did go steady with Les Singleton for a while in my Jr. and Senior year and a few years after high school. He was/is a really great guy. Who you date in highschool does not determine your future. Some kids were too serious in highschool when it came to dating. ok my Crushes were... here are the names...not that it matters....Scott B. Mark I. Brett K. Tony K. Not a big list I know. I was picky and not boy crazy. These guys were smart, kind, interesting, funny and just so much fun to be around. I remember long days of tennis matches and running and hanging out and just talking and lots of music or a movie or hanging out on a front porch with them. They were good people then and I am sure great leaders of their familes now. I am sure of it. If you read this write to me. Let me know what you think.
