Vicki's Story
I left Utica, NY with my sons to Portland, Oregon where my daughter was born and we lived for 12years. Made some wonderful friends. Was Happily Married and Divorced and then moved to Southern California to be near family.
Where my children graduated from Southern California High Schools. I have two beautiful grandchildren, a granddaughter 8yrs old and a grandson 4yrs old.
Once my children grew up...I moved back to the East Coast..why...Well to take care of my mother..who passed away.... ges I've seen were they tore down a few things, but haven't built up the city. Cost of living is cheap, but the gas and Electric is still high and the pay is still ridiculously low. Jan 07 they finally raised min wage from $5.75 to $6.50. It's a great place to visit due to family but if you've been gone over 20yrs like my self, it's not a place to live.
Anyways, I now live in Maryland where I am an Accountant M-F and I do Volunteer work on some weekends with the Red Cross "Youth Disaster Training" and Every Saturday I work with our Elderly in a Living Assistant Home and do Volunteer Computer Training. It's great. I've made new friends and have brought smiles to my students faces.
