T STILL KEEP IN TOUCH AND ARE ALSO DOING VERY WELL. ALL THE KIDS ARE VERY INDEPENDANT. MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I DID OKAY. Was asked to go to Kentucky with the Red Cross to help people with the ice storm.Of course I did and was sent to Ballard County along with 5 other people Ken he was from Virginia Don and Larry from West Virginia and Ed and Bob from Stark County Ohio. And of course Alex a 21 year old army man(boy) who agreed to help cook. Never met these people before. We were sent to a town called LaCenter a very small town. The people were so happy to see us. We helped run a warming and feeding center. With alot of help from the community. Reminded me of Mayberry, everyone knew everyone the people were always willing to help. Most of the people had no power, yet to them they felt it could be worse, and the people of their town were okay thats all that mattered. Everything else would fall into place. I have never had the pleasure of working with so many caring and loving people. When we(Red Cross workers) left, I realized the people of this small town had really touched my heart. Funny how I volunteer to help others and the people tend to touch my heart and help me.Coming home I realize how material items mean nothing without the people you love in your life. Well alot has been going on since I last wrote, went to work for on the Rocky Express Pipeline. I was on the blasting crew, we drilled holes in rock and loaded with dynamite and blew up so that we can dig ditch for a 42 in pipe for gas. The company I work for is putting in 31 miles of pipe. I've done that for about 9 weeks 7 days a week 12 hopur days. Now I am with the clean-up crew. We put the ground back to the original state. Still working long hours but they informed me we are only working 6 days a week 10 hours. It is a very exciting job. I'm ready for some shorter work days. But very happy to have a job. Was voted in for the By-laws committee representing the union. Also on the board of the AFL-CIO representing our union. Ohio Operating Engineers.
