Vicki's Story
After graduating from Dixie Heights I attended Asbury College located in a small town south of Lexington KY. (Great school, BTW) I got my degree in Elementary Education and taught the 5th grade at Caywood Elementary which was located close to Dixie. I was there a short 3 years. If any of my students happen to read this, I would love to hear from you.
I moved to Lexington KY to a new teaching position, but that fell through at the last minute! What do I do now?!?!?!? I had already moved and relinguished my job, so I started looking. I worked for Budget Car Rental at the Lexington Airport. What a fun job and met lots of nice people and repeat customers. I was also substitute teaching, but that wasn't for me. I applied at the postal service thinking I would work there about 3 years... NOT! I was hired and continued for 30 years. My last ...Expand for more
position was Mailpiece Design Analyst. Bet you didn't even know the postal service had one of those jobs. There were about 100 of us nationwide. Great job. I enjoyed it, but the best part of all is that I retired this past January and love it.
I married for the second time in August of 2003. Randy is originally from Lexington and is a Nuclear Medicine Tech. I guess you could say we met on a blind date, both of us expecting nothing more than meeting a friend and going to a movie. The instant attraction was there and 1 1/2 yrs later we married. We had a beautiful wedding outdoors at Cumberland Falls and had invited a few friends and family. Things are great!
We love to travel and especially enjoy the outdoors. We hope to travel more. There are lots of places we still want to see.
