Vicki's Story

Life Hi! Well, all our lives take changes that we certainly don't expect. I was widowed after being married to a wonderful man for 32 1/2 years. I have been single now for 6 years, but my life is full and busy. I have wonderful friends & family members that keep me busy. I am active in my church Singles' group & participate in other Christian Singles' activities. I am a member in good standing with the Red Hat Rascals. I have 2 great kids that are grown. Both are NHS & CSUB graduates. My son is a news producer in Las Vegas and my daughter is now an attorney. Both of them got married last year! (2009) I'm so proud of them! No grandchildren yet, but hopefully that will be remedied in the near future. My late husband & I were full-time RVers for almost 18 mos. What an incredible & memorable experience! Saw many, many miles of our great country, traveling as far east as Pennsylvania. We met great folks and did some fun things, including being volunteer hosts at 2 fish hatcheries in Oregon. I would love to share my travel experiences with you. I have taken a short Mexico cruise & a week-long Alaska Cruise, too. I would love to do more cruises!! Over the years, I've worked as a bank teller, full-time MOM, chiropractic assistant, and word processor. I've returned to my previous job as a word processor & really enjoy my job. ok about 18 mos. of square dance lessons and a couple of swing dance lessons. Have been too busy to get back to that. I was a winner on 2 different game shows - ask me!! Also, my husband & I owned a small airplane for over 15 years & I'm an experienced navigator. Never did learn to fly the darned thing. I would love to reconnect with some of my old friends and classmates. I hope to hear from some of you. Vicki (Sinichko) Anslinger :o) (Beardsley '65 & NHS/Foothill 1969) School I attended North Beardsley Elementary and then graduated from Beardsley Jr. High in 6/1965. My high school years were not typical. I started out at Garces High, but only went there one semester, as my family was having financial difficulties. When I left Garces, we were living in the West High district. I went to West High for about 6 weeks before the family moved back to Oildale. I started NHS in April 1966. It was so good to see all of my friends from Beardsley & others from Standard that I had attended church with & known most of my life. I was at NHS for my entire sophomore year, which was a great year!! In Oct.1967, my family moved again & I finished at Foothill. I made some good friends & have good memories of Foothill. But I've always considered NHS my true alma mater and NHS grads the greatest!! I currently live in the 08 (the Dale).
