Vicki's Story
Life
Since graduating in 1975, I have worked in the following careers: food service, clothing retail, secretarial, Mommy, accounting, auto parts, early childhood education, and I currently teach Kindergarten in the Colby public school system. Every day is a new adventure for me! Tom and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary - I FEEL OLD! He works as a police officer for the city. Our two children are adults now. Our son (Joel T., V or Joey) attends Ft. Hays and will graduate with a B.S. in Music Education in 2003; he is getting married in December. My most cherished dream is that of being a Grandma!!! in Accounting in 2003. Remember the song by Bread, "Aubrey"??? I am involved in Colby Wesleyan Church as a board member, Sunday School superintendent, and volunteer. My relationship with Jesus Christ is the central focus of my life. My maiden name was Steiger - Dad just retired from teaching after 36 years of "putting up with Sophomores", as he says! His new job will be running the alternative school in Oakley. Mom works as a secretary in Oakley, Terri lives in Washington, D.C. and is a CPA, Sherri passed away in 2000 after a 5-year bout with melanoma skin cancer, John teaches and coaches in Junction City, and J.J. has taken over the family farming operation.
