Vicki's Story
Life
I have been married for the second time for almost 17 years. I have 3 sons, and 4 step children. We are working on number 13 grandchild.
For the past 9 years I have been a Realtor with Pearse Realty, and have run for city commission twice. Outside of enjoying my career in Realestate and politics, I have been able to enjoy my children and grandchildren. Just in the last 3 years, two of my three son', Ryan and Tom have joined the Army. Ryan is in S. Korea and Tom is leaving for Iraq around the 1st part of December. Ryan has one more year to go. Tom is just starting. Both are very happy to be serving their country, as well as their family is happy and proud.
I currently have 2 dogs. One is a chow-lab. She is very old. And a Red doberman. He is about 4. And believes that the Chow-lab is his dog.
I just wanted to add that I had gone to several different schools. Just to name a few. Springfield Ele. Valley View Ele. Wattles Park Jr. S.W.Jr.high 2 yrs, S.E.Jr.High 1 yr. B.C. Central Graduated in 73. Over all I have been to 12 different schools, lived in 2 other states, and One other country-Costa Rica.
Since this Bio, my husband and I have retired and have move to a little town In Iowa. This town is called Wesley, population 350 -+. Wesley is located North Central in the largest county of Iowa, Kossuth. This has been great. We bought a 100+ home and working on restoring it back to as close as possible to the 1920's. I loved living in Battle Creek, but now it is time to move on to a life that is a lot slower with the most friendlist people I have ever known. But as new lives go there are concessions, one was we had to leave our chow-lab in B.C. However she loves her new family and is doing very well. Jake on the other hand, is learning the ways of city life.
UPDATE
It has been 3 years since I wrote about what was going on in my life. I've been married now for 20 years. A good mile stone. My younest son Ryan is now out of the service and living in Battle Creek. My other son Tom is still in Texas soon to be in Kentucky. Both boys served in Iraq at least once. My husband, Gary and I now winter in S. Padre Island, Texas. Usually for about 5 months. Maybe longer if the weather here in Wesley Iowa keeps it's cold days longer in to...Expand for more

School
I have notice that a few of my class mates have signed my guest book. I would imagine that most of you don't remember me. I was very quiet and keep to myself most of the time. However, a few of my friends from Jr high, were Art Sutherland, which i hear from often, Kathy Brewer-Holder, I hear from her often as well. JoAnn Poweres from Wattles Park, Jr. Haven't heard from her in a few years. My step brother Doug Smith went to Harper Creek and graduated in "73". Because I had gone to so many different schools, it was difficult to really make lasting friends.
I also played in band during my Jr High years and was in the Choir. So I knew quite few of you from there. Also spent many weekends at Midway Roller Rink. Which was almost my passion.
Here are some of the schools that I had attended; Washington Ele. BC Academy, Springfield Elem.; Valley View Elem.; Beaver Elem. W.virginia; Wattles Park Jr. S.W.Jr.high; S.E.Jr.High; Battle Creek Central. And one year for the 3-4th grade in Costa Rica. That was when JF Kennedy was killed. A few of my favorite teachers were Mr. Rounds (band, Wattles Park) Mr. Adams (band S.E. Jr.high) Mr Chandler, (choir SW Jr High)Mr Horton, history SW Jr high. Mrs Whitehair from S.E Jr High. Just to name a few.
I married shortly after high school, divorced 7yrs and 2 sons later. Single for 8yrs during which I went to Argubright Business College. Speaking of which-- I really miss my study buddies. I then went to work as clerk coordinator for the Calhoun County Health Dept. Met my current husband and have been married now for 20 years.
Workplace
After I graduated from Argubright I started working at the Calhoun County Health Dept. as clerk coordinator. My main duties were to see that Marshal, Albion, and Battle Creek clinics were working well. I also had my own programs that I was accountable for. They were family planning and shots.
I met husband at the Toeller building. He maintained the elevators for the county. We married and I resigned from the Health Dept. In 1995 I recieved my Realtor's license and started working at Pearse Realty. I have been there ever since. I do have my dream jobs. They would include some kind of Law enforcement, or Governmental. Something maybe in the line of helping others.
