Vicki's Story
I would hope that my friends from Grainger High School / Kinston High School remember me fondly, as being unique!!!
I luv to relax at the beach sunning, swimming in the ocean, collecting shells, dining out eating great seafood, watching the eye candy! I also luv to relax with an all over body massage with hot scented oil, soft music and in my hot tub!
The wildest thing I ever did in high school was skip class with Robert Paulsen, Roger Taylor and Cathy Leatherwood! When I got back to the side street where I parked right in front of Grainger High School, my dad was there waiting on me! UH OH!
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have an understanding boss, leeway in time to be a little late in the mornings and back from lunch, at least once in a blue moon! I require QUIET TO WORK and DETEST SMALL TALK while I am accomplishing legal tasks that must be done on a day-to-day basis.
Digital Photography is one of my greatest passions!
I am into antiques and collectibles big time! Also luv interior decorating. Luv to do some drawing and crafting.
My dad was my biggest hero. He worked as a Wildlife Biologist for the state of North Carolina for thirty years. He then worked with the loggerheads at Camp LeJeune U. S. Marine Corps Base. He taught me my great luv for all animals and how important conservation is to our wildlife and to all of us.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Barry Glen Maxwell. We met at LCC and were married in '72. Barry had attended school in Kinston as did his brother Alan Maxwell before they moved to Wilmington.
NC WOLFPACK where my dad attended college! My five cats, four leopard geckos, one lovebird.
REALITY TV SUCKS. Too bad they've run out of decent ideas for new television shows! I'll make an exception for American Idol. I am obsessed with Eastenders and it is the ONLY soap I watch. I am a...Expand for more

If I won $100 million, I'd give part of it to animal charities, the homeless here in our own country! There is absolutely no sense or reason for anyone to go without food or medical treatment in the United States where there are so many rich people! Next I'd spend some on my beautiful beach home, a brand new porsche and I would travel all over the world!
My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age were so very old. I was so completely wrong!
My best friends would tell you I'm loyal, people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a little stuck up.
FOR MY DADDY
PART I

Why was I too young to understand,
That my Daddy was such a wonderful man?
Hair as black as midnight,
with those really strong hands.
Beautiful brown eyes that
Always looked at me with love.
You taught me how to fly a kite.
It climbed, soared then leaped into the sky.
We made that kite together you and I,
With twigs, strings and a brown paper bag.
You drew on it with your colored pencils,
then asked me if I knew what you had drawn.
I told you "Daddy that's sputnik!"
You used to push me in a swing,
I would stare up, up into the sky,
All I could think was how high could I fly?
How happy, loved and safe felt I
With my Daddy behind me on the ground.
Because I always knew that he'd catch me should I fall down.
The smell of the cut grass at night fall,
Fireflies in the dark shadowy sky.
We'd catch them and put them in a jar,
Take them upstairs to watch them light,
The bedroom on those hot balmy summer nights.
I'd sit curled in your safe warm lap. While on Granny and Grandpa's front porch.
You'd show me the yellow man in the moon,
Then rock me to sleep in that old green upholstered and steel rocker.
