read constantly, am addicted to my computer and garage sales and do genealogy, knitting and crochet. We are very active in our church, Carlton Hills Lutheran Church, in Santee, CA and are also on the Witness Team for Lutheran Lay Renewal of America and travel across the country to congregations who call us to share our faith in Jesus Christ. I am on the Church Council in the area of Outreach and I trained and am now a Stephen Minister. We are also going on a tour of the Holy Land in October 2009 and can barely wait. Deanna Brown is still my best friend since first grade. Kind of scary when you tell people that you have been best friends for 57 years!!! We are parents to 3 cats. Boots a 17 1/2 pounder who lived next door but moved in with us after his owner passed away. Then there is Stripey and a new kitty named Arthur. Arthur is a girl kitty and should be presenting us with baby kitties soon. We also have the silliest little pound puppy named Toto. He is just a little over 3 and his only bad habit is that he feels the need to lick any visible skin on my body. He doesn't understand, "no lick" but sort of responds to "STOP!" Update 3/24/2010: Dick had a massive stroke on 6/23/2009 and spent some time in the hospital and a skilled nursing facility and has been home since August. We do therapy three times a week and he is coming along well. Our Holy Land trip got put on hold, but we did just return from a Mexican cruise and he did very well. He isn't walking yet and has some speech problems, but we are working on those areas and his mind is clear and strong and his motivation is terrific. He wears me out, always wanting to go. He doesn't seem to understand that I'm old and arthritic and I wear out quickly. I'd love to hear from anyone who would like to e-mail me, so please do.
