Vickie's Story
This is Vickie White's daughter. My mother recently passed away from a rare disease called Scleroderma (scleroderma.org). I am just interested in talking to some of her old classmates to see how she was in high school and what her life was like. So if you knew Vickie Douglas please please please get in touch wit me some how, I'd love to talk to you just to see how you remember my mom.
She's had two kids. Myself (14), and my brother Wayne (24). She moved to Atlanta, GA in 1987 and she met my father and they've made a life together for the last 17 years. f 2006, after showing symptoms for over 6 months. Before she passed she was working at Emory. She worked in one of the nursing homes down there and she'd worked at another nursing home before then and she loved it. She was an AMAZING mother. She took in my dad's 3 other kids and if you didn't know any better, you'd think they were her own. She was always on the go seeing what she could do for everybody else despite her condition. When she first had to leave work, my grandmother was hospitalized for weeks and my mother woke up early EVERYDAY to go to the hospital to sit with her and keep her company. So I hope you remember my mother as the amazing person she was. Thanks.
