Vickie's Story
Life
After graduating from high school I went on to BC. The first day of college I started going out with Mike D'Amato another graduate of the class of 69. We got married in 1970 and I'm proud to say we are still very happily married today (we just celebrated our 39th anniversary). Not to say that times haven't been rough and tough but with lots of love. We have one daughter Jennifer who is married to Steve Watkins from Kern Valley. Jennifer graduated from Highland High and CSUB (full ride scholarship for softball). She is now a special ed teacher at Cennential. She is moving on to BHS this year, because of school enrollment at Cennential being lower.
She has given us two very beautiful granddaughters Lexie (8 yrs old) and Jaycee (4 yrs old). Lexie is a very busy 3rd grader as she is invovled in soccer, softball, Jr. Theater, dance and travel ball. Jaycee was very excited to get to play soccer this year and is active in dance and gymnastics...Expand for more
(trying to be just like her big sissy). Lexie was dignosed with Juvenile Diabetes in November 2006. So as a family we are big supporters of JDRF. Steve our son-n-law is in managment for Wildland firefighters. Mike and I had Shakey Pizza, then changed to Sharkey's Pizza until Dec 2006. He now works for a place called Turning Point which he is a supervisor. This is a place that rehabilitates men and women who have gotten out of jail or prison and are trying to get a second chance in life. He loves his job. As for me I work for a company called Controlco which is owned by brother-in-law. We have 9 brances in the state of CA and 2 branches in NV. Mike and I are also members of Fairfax Assembly of God and are members of our Leadership team there. We love our church and our church family and have been active in many of their activities for about 8 years now. So with all of this said this is a short summary of what keeps me busy in todays world.
