Vickie's Story
Life
Boy oh boy, have I lived the life. Married way too young, but who knew. Had three beautiful children by age 23. Divorced at age 27. Found myself needing to get a job for the first time, to support myself and the kids. I took a job as a Bartender. That was fun and I made a good living. Still single at the ripe old age of 33 I decided to take a job at a local lumber mill, where I was making BOO-COO-BUCKS! The mill closed for repairs in 1982, so at 35 years old I went back to Bartending! Now older but not a bit wiser, I met and fell deeply in love with the owner, my boss and soulmate. He was charming. We were married and I wish I could say we lived "HAPPILY EVER AFTER". We took a trip to England in 1991 so I could meet his Mother and other family ( I forgot to mention my husband was from U.K.) We stayed there for 3 months and it was lovely. r our trip my huband seemed depressed, still a Pub owner he drank and drank until we had nothing left of our family life. I could not compete with the bottle. Our son was not able to spend any time with his father. We no longer could talk communication was gone, along with many other things. We split up in 1992. Still very much in love I waited for him to figure out what the future would be. I stayed firm that "I would not live with him, and watch him die"! We remained seperated. He continued drinking. In 2001 he was diagnosed with liver disease. He died July 22, 2005 with me and our son performing CPR. I gave up all those years with a man I dearly loved with all my heart-to prove what point? Life is too short. I am glad he lived his life as HE chose! My pain right now is NOT having lived mine in acceptance. And now what? Whats the next chapter? For now THANK YOU for being interested enough to read my bio. To be continued.
