Victoria's Story
Hi class of l971! How did we get this old? I dont feel old. I still work full time at a job I've had for 32 years now. Moved to Ohio in 1975 right after graduating from Drew University and marrying Fred coffin. He dragged me to the midwest and took me away from my family and friends and everything I knew in the world. Ohio was a cultural wasteland back then. Narrow-minded and ethnically homogenious. I had to lose my Long Island accent to make any friends. Went back to college at OSU and got a teaching degree and taught for one year. Taking orders from a principal I didnt really respect caused me to rethink my career choice. e I appreciated our Native forefathers and their craftmanship and spirituality. Now, it's the Creative Outlet Indian Store. My beautiful daughter married and moved away in early 2010. She and her husband live in Virginia, near the Chesapeake Bay. She was my last tie to Ohio , other than my livlihood. At. present time, I am planning to become a resident of St. Augustine, Fla. where I bought a home last year. I adore it there. the oldest city in America has ocean, art , music, culture, diversity of people and a terrific climate. YAY!!!!!!! I guess I'll have to commute back here to Ohio for at least 5 years more, but it's worth it to finally be working for my hearts desire which is to be back on the east coast, just further south. I would love to hear from old classmates. Sharon Brenner, Cadalvo is the only person I've kept touch with and we've recently lost contact. Shoot me a message I'd love to hear from old friends. I've wondered for 40 years whatever became of Rich Ringler, class of 70.
