Victoria's Story
Life
My family moved from Massachusetts to Virginia the month after graduation in 1984. I decided to go to Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and graduated from there in 1990. While at Tech, I met my husband, Trevor Dickenson Hughes, and we were married in October 1990. Trevor grew up in Virginia, so we decided to stay in the area and raise a family here. We have one son, Zachary, who was born in May 1992.
I had a career as a graphic designer for many years, but love being a stay at home Mom now (since January 2000). Of course I think I had more "free time" when I was working full time! Our son is involved in many different activities and sports and he keeps me running. My husband has his own CPA firm "on the side" so I also manage that for him. He is the CFO of a company in Blacksburg.

have become an avid quilter and spend a lot of my free time sewing and creating. I also enjoy scrapbooking and stamping/paper arts. There just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I enjoy.
We have two pets, an exceedingly large Newfoundland dog named Clifford and a small cat (who has gotten much quicker since we got the dog) named Casper.
Our home is in the mountains of Southwest Virginia and a beautiful area. The town we live in is very much like the town of Sterling was when we first moved there in 1973 - - small and quaint and in the middle of nowhere! It's quiet and friendly and we love it here. I've lived in Virginia more than half my life now, and I consider this place my home. I miss Massachusetts sometimes, but not in the winters when it gets all that snow!
