VINCE's Story

Life Here is a little about me: I am now an electrical engineer for Bombardier/Learjet. I design the electrical systems on business jet aircraft. I am also the owner of a record company and music publishing company. Since high school I joined the Navy, was stationed in Whidbey Island Washington (state) in the Puget Sound (near Seattle and Vancouver British Columbia, Canada). I was an Aviation Electrician on the EA-6A Intruder (they did a movie about it “Flight of the Intruder”) for four years. My squadron (VAQ 309) was picked to be in the movie An Officer and a Gentleman. We also went to Europe on a NATO mission to support the Italian and Turkish Air Force. I was also in an F-18 Fighter squadron, VFA 305. After the Navy, I relocated to Southern California (Orange County) and lived there for 13 years. I moved to Tucson Arizona to work for Bombardier/Learjet and bought a house out here. I love music, art, traveling, adventure, and the outdoors. I have been involved in music since I was about 17 when I bought my first guitar. I practiced everyday and eventually got good enough to be a lead singer and rhythm guitarist for a local Southern California rock band. I also wanted to get into acting and tried out for a musical for my local college. It was “Grease” and there were so many auditions, they had to hold them for three days. Talk about competition! :) I was lucky and had a good audition and got a lead role on my first time out and at that point, I was thoroughly bit by the “performing bug”. I got an agent in Hollywood, had professional headshots done, and started going on more auditions. Ended up doing some commercials, and extra work in some movies (Sister Act 2 was a blast!). Did some more musicals, Swee...Expand for more
t Charity, Evita, and played Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar. I was also taking lots of music classes and started a “doo-wop” boy-band, “The Chills”. I was also in some professional singing groups and even started my own a capella group out here in Tucson called Voices Unlimited. We did private parties and coffee houses, that sort of thing. We were lucky enough to get picked to sing the national anthem for the Sidewinders at Tucson Electric Ballpark. That was a great gig! We sang for the City of Tucson and Pepper Viner homebuilders and even recorded an album! I’m also a songwriter and started my own record company, Desert Star Records. I love nature and am attempting to grow a garden in my back yard which isn’t easy here in Tucson! It’s a real challenge but rewarding when it comes together. If I can just figure out how to grow these plants in all this heat, I’d have it made! :) I also love painting and drawing and am a big fan of van Gogh’s work. My brother is a professional artist and lives in Laguna Beach. I love going there and checking out the galleries, seeing what the local artists are doing. I have been lucky enough to have traveled a bit: Germany, Italy (Sicily) and to Turkey. I've also traveled to Mexico, Jamaica, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras and all over the United States. I have a very adorable four year old little boy named Jacob that lives with his mom in California that I am very devoted to. I love being a dad and he means everything to me. I love good food and good wine and have been told that I’m a pretty good cook. Anyway, that’s enough about me. :) Write me an email and tell me what you’ve been up to since high school!
