Vince's Story

Life 06.09.09 Just thought I'd squeeeeeze in an update here... I'm still my usual positive, upbeat, healthy, and smiling self... The job is on cruise control... My son, a typical 13 year old, enjoys testing the boundaries of an adults patience. Mortality, his own in particular, is what he may come face to face with very shortly... Thank God he's my son and I love him... LOL... The rocky road of marriage is a bit clearer now... Separation, wow! It can be talked about and come to terms with, every angle of the transition can be thought of, but there is still a mountain stress that rips and tears at you... Probably by the end of this month I'll be an apartment dweller in Levittown, PA... As you look back over the years you try not to leave any stones unturned... How many forks in the road, how many second guesses, how many what if's... No compass No maps A journey littered with traps How can we ever know when a good choice has been made. Many times we never know till the very end. But then it's too late, or is it. Are there things we can pick up on along the way, that may help us make minor adjustments. A tightening or loosening of life's belt so to say. Or is every path we walk down already etched in stone. Does life tease us. Are we free to walk from one side of the street to the other, but ultimately, only down that one street. Two doorways. One hall for as far as yo...Expand for more
u can see. Just a destination with no guarantee's 12.08.07 I've been married for a bit over 14 years now... Hmmmm, the roads getting rockier and more uncertain(not my fault though)... My son, Vince jr. is 11 1/2 yrs. old... I live near the shore in Manahawkin... I've been with the Dept. of Corrections for 20 years now and look forward to retiring in another 5 more years. 10.04.04 I didn't do much in high school. I pretty much just didn't want to be there. Most of it is a blur, the rest of the memories could be filed under bad dreams, puberty, rebellion, fear and not enough sense to see the forest past the tree's. This is an old saying, but aptly applies here... "It's a wonder he turned out so well" [maybe a better word for that saying might be miracle instead of wonder]! I could easily pick out a couple of things that I would have done differently, but that was then and this is now. I love to play pool(very, very good!), if you play and want a good game drop me a line and we'll set it up. I'm going to make a big effort to get to one of the reunions. I went to the 5th. All I seem to remember is that I drank a whole lot and got sick a whole lot. I'd rather not have that be my only memory of a class reunion. I do hope that all has been well with everyone. I don't get on the computer much, so please be patient if you send a message, I will try to get back to you. Vince
