Gail's Story

Life My life in 4000 words? Challenging! (Ah, but so much better than a eulogy!) Okay, currently unorthodox pastor of a United Methodist Church; liberal politically; divorced mother of a daughter who works for Remax Realty in Denver while studying for her Masters in teaching ESL, and son who is studying for a degree in computer animation and gaming; an avid tennis player and long-time gym-a-holic; love to travel (been to Bahamas, Bermuda, Ireland, Wales, England, France, Israel, Egypt, several Caribbean Islands, Hawai'i, Brazil, Peru, Haiti, Korea, China, Vancouver, and an Alaskan cruise); enjoy meeting new people and re-connecting with old friends; on a spiritual journey; enjoy nature, good food, the firs...Expand for more
t snowball fight, the last leaf falling from the tree, the sound of the waves on the shore, a good book/movie; love art photography; now learning to fence and play the harp; annoyed at SPAM, rude people, and so little time to finish all I want to do. So, who/how are you? Workplace I changed careers at age 29 - from nursing instructor to ordained clergy. Since then, I've been writing papers for professional publications, studying and practicing various counseling techniques and spiritual guidance, and furthering my interest in digital art photography. Generally, I love what I do, and feel that I am fulfilling my calling. Part of the fun is being a "person of the cloth" who is accessible to real people.

Flowers and memorial at Grace UMC Des Moines for Larry Hoch ' s funeral. It was a fitting tribute to an amazing man. Our chldren Brian Hoch and Sarah Hoch spoke beautifully about their experiences and memories of their Dad.

Day 5 of the Post a Nature Picture, nominate a friend to do the 7 day challenge. The picture is at Vero Beach, water temp around 84 degrees, air feels like 105. I nominate Sarah Hoch to join the challenge.

Reservoir UMC said it so well. Brought tears to my eyes just driving in! We had a wonderful celebration of Aunt Doris ' life - about 160 people crowded into the church and narthex. There wasn't even any more standing room.
